MGNREGS Facilitation Program
Facilitating best implementation of MGNREGS in Gangajalghati block
This is a new program undertaken by the Math in the year 2011-12.
The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) 2005, enacted by the Government of India, guarantees hundred days of wage employment in a financial year to adult members of a rural household who demand employment and are willing to do unskilled manual work. The Act seeks to enhance the livelihood security of people in rural areas by generating wage employment through works that develop the infrastructure base of that area. The choice of works mentioned in the Act includes all components of land and water resource development that help in addressing causes of chronic poverty like drought, deforestation and soil erosion.
Shamayita Math has taken the responsibility of facilitation of implementation of MGNREGA programme in Lachhmanpur Gram Panchayat
Under this program the Math carried out a range of activities like:
- Organizing village demands for asset creation such as land development, water conservation, development of social forestry programmes through INRM(Integrated Natural Resource Management) planning methodologies and linking them with MGNREGS in Lachhmanpur GP comprising of 8 revenue villages.
- Skill and capacity building through exposure visit and training programme to beneficiaries and major implementing machinery from Gram Panchayat and Block level.
- Individual household level planning done for livelihood development depending upon the asset created to enhance family level income.
- Total 46 families have been covered and 99 developmental plans have been sanctioned
