Agriculture Fairs – Krishi Melas
Krishi Melas are organized once in a year to bring together farmers, government agencies and private companies.
These are three day affairs with ample scope and platforms for exchange between farmers, government agencies, private companies and Shamayita Krishi Kendra.
This year too Krishi Mela was organized from 21st January 2010 to 24th January 2010, with the aim of sharing knowledge and encouraging potential farmers for their effort in agriculture.
20 Government departments and private companies were invited who held very important role in the fair.
Three days of Krishi mela was designed such a way so that farmers and experts could share knowledge and experiences to each other. Technical session onProspect of Orchards in Bankura District, Improved Practices of Paddy Cultivation & area specific suitable varieties in Bankura, Promotion of fishery through SHG, promotion of animal husbandry on scientific lines, were discussed by various experts in respective fields.
Other activities included panel discussion on Soil conservation, Paddy & Potato cultivation, S.R.I, Pest & Disease control of Chili & Tomato, presentation by participating seed & pesticide companies, vegetable show, prize distribution to best farmers associated with Krishi Kendra for Kharif& Rabi Cultivation, famers’ quiz, cultural show etc.
