Drinking Water Project at Marang Buru school in Hanspahari village

The drinking water project for Marang Buru school at Hanspahari village was a revolution for the villagers. The children and specially women who used to fetch water for the family from only one hand pump are excited about the new created facility. This is bacteria free water and the scheme is sufficient to cater to the need of the 50 school children and 26 families residing in the village. The source is a well about 500 ft from the school. The water from the well lifted by a pump is filtered with a slow sand filter, a carbon filter and finally passed through a UV filter.

"Amader Swasthya" Mela ("Our Health" Fairs)

Swasthya Mela was held in three Gram Panchayats- namely Lotiaboni on 25th January,2016 and Banasuria on 27th January, 2016 and on 2nd March, in Lachmanpur Panchayat. The purpose of these melas is to build awareness among the people in the villages for proactive healthcare.

The Swasthya Mela in Banasuria GP was hosted in Banasuria High School campus and for Lotiaboni GP in Lotiaboni Anchal High School.

Each of the melas had between 1500-2000 visitors. Various stalls were setup for the visitors to educate them on health matters:

A Joint initiative with Lafarge India

The day was celebrated through a sensitization workshop organized in the Communion Hall of Shamayita Math from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This is an
initiative to provide an opportunity for the rural women residing in Lotiaboni, Banasuria and Lachmanpur Panchayat of Gangajalghati Block to realize that -
she can be a change-agent of the society.

The Participants included:
a) Mothers- 26 numbers from the model ICDS centres under “Hamara Swasth”project.
b) Anganwadi Workers-5 No. and Anganwadi Helpers- 3 No.

National level Mahindra Samriddhi Award for Shamayita Math

Shamayita Math has been awarded Mahindra Samriddhi India Agri Award called as "Krishi Sahyog Samman" for the work done by Shamayita Krishi Kendra - the agriculture extension wing of Shamayita Math.

 

 

Kriti Ashirwad and Dheemahi - Recognition to Meritorious Students

 

This years "Kriti Ashirwad" - the annual function to recognise and motivate the meritorious students of the Shamayita Convent School was organised.The students were facilitated by the Revered Prabhujithe Hon’ble Founder President of Shamayita Math.

16 students of Shamayita Convent School from CBSE 10th  board examination and 12 students from CBSE+2 board examination was awarded “Kriti Ashirwad” on 29th August, 2014.
